Ilonen takes the title in Indonesia

Golf Betting Lines

02/18/2007 - Jakarta, Indonesia (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Despite a bogey on the final hole, Finland's Mikko Ilonen shot a one-under 70 on Sunday to earn his first European Tour victory at the Indonesia Open. He finished at nine-under-par 275 and won by a single shot at Damai Indah Golf & Country Club.

European Tour rookie Andrew Tampion also bogeyed the 72nd hole and it cost him his first title. Tampion posted a two-under 69 and shared second place with third-round co-leader Frankie Minoza (71) and Shiv Kapur (67). The group came in at minus-eight.

Jong Yul Suk (73) and Thammanoon Srirot (69) finished tied for fifth place at five-under-par 279.

Ilonen and Minoza shared the third-round lead as round three was completed Sunday. The players went quickly back out for the final round in threesomes off both the first and 10th holes, but ongoing weather problems resurfaced on Sunday.

Just as the final threesome headed to the back nine, heavy storms and lightning hit the area. Play was stopped for close to two hours, but the final round finished Sunday afternoon.

When play was halted, Ilonen and Minoza were tied for the lead at nine-under par. Ilonen got to that point thanks to a pair of birdies and one bogey, while Minoza birdied No. 10 before the horn sounded to join Ilonen atop the leaderboard.

Ilonen took sole possession of the lead with a birdie at the par-three 12th hole, but Minoza tied him one hole later with a birdie of his own at the par- five 13th.

The battle was soon decided between Ilonen and Minoza as Minoza double-bogeyed the par-four 14th, a hole he birdied in each of his last two rounds. Ilonen still had to contend with the Australian Tampion.

Tampion moved up the leaderboard thanks to three birdies and a bogey over his opening nine. He bogeyed the 10th, but got the stroke back with a birdie at the par-three 12th.

Tampion birdied the par-five 17th to close the gap to one as Ilonen continued making pars. Tampion bogeyed the closing hole, leaving Ilonen a two-stroke cushion to play the last.

Turned out he needed it. Ilonen also bogeyed the finishing hole, but it was enough to finally crack the winner's circle.

Alexandre Rocha shot a final-round, four-under 67 and finished alone in seventh place at four-under-par 280.

Tony Carolan (72), James Heath (71) and Chapchai Nirat (72) shared eighth place at minus-three.

MySportsbook.com: NBA Championship Odds

With the playoffs about two months away, the top two teams in the Western Conference are the clear cut leaders to win the NBA Championship. The Dallas Mavericks have the best record in the NBA (44-9) and have been absolutely scorching since the second week of the season.  What makes the Mavs’ record more impressive is the fact that they dropped their first four games of the season.  Currently they have won 17 out of their last 18 and are MySportsbook.com’s favorite (2-1) to win it all.  Right behind the Mavs are the Pacific leading Phoenix Suns (39-13).  Last season, the Suns lost in the Conference Finals to non-other then the Mavericks four games to two.  Of course the Suns were without center Amare Stoudemire who has is averaging 19.9 PPG and 9.5 RPG since coming back from his knee injury.  Unlike the Mavs, the Suns have struggled a bit lately having lost their last three and four out of their last seven.  Of course the main reason for their three straight loses is due to the absence of two time MVP Steve Nash, who is out with a shoulder injury.  Heads-up, the Mavs have beaten the Suns in both of their meetings this season.

In the Eastern Conference, the Pistons (32-19) are the favorites to win it all at 6-1. The addition of Chris Webber seems to have been a good move for the Pistons.  Since coming over from the 76ers, Webber has averaged 13.1 PPG and 7.3 RPG and the Pistons are 11-4.  Even though the defending champion Heat are currently on the playoff making cusp, they are the Eastern Conference team that is getting the most action to win it all (9-1).  The fact that Shaquille O’Neal is back in the starting lineup after missing 39 games probably has something to do with this.  No doubt, Shaq makes a difference when in the lineup as their winning six out of their last seven would indicate.
